Sports Psychology
Sports psychology is becoming increasingly more important in all sport and not just soccer.
Dealing with stress, mood and developing a positive attitude can provide an extra boost in a player's performance. Mental preparedness can make a big impact on the game, especially at the highest level.
Sports psychology is even more important at the Academy because our players are growing into adults. The players go through many physical and mental changes that can affect them in a negative way. Support through these changes can help them take control and think positively.
We are very conscious that the players' lives outside the Academy play a big part on their mental development.
If we can help the players learn to deal with their life changes or problems in the right way, then they are more likely to think positively, helping them to not only succeed on the field but in other aspects of life.
